The Cookbook

I've been working on a cookbook for each of my daughters, which involved first printing out all the recipes and then compiling them into a scrapbook. It's been interesting, because it is giving me a chance to review all these recipes and it has gotten me interested in cooking some more. This all came about at Christmas when younger daughter, while chowing down on some of her favorite foods, asked to go through my recipes.

I'm using acid free "magnetic" pages. I turned off the flash in some of the pictures, but unfortunately, I'm also shadowing the pages. Anyway, below are some of the ones I've worked on. I'm also looking for some food related embellishments. I have some cooking ones, now I need some food ones.

And if there is a trick to getting the page cover to lay flat afterwards, I sure would like to know what it is because it is giving me fits on some pages.

My Cricut (George) is getting a work-out along with my Sure-Cuts-A-Lot software. I think I've forgotten how to work the Cricut without the software!

I will mention here, in case people wonder why I chose the magnetic albums. It would have been easier to use the acid-free sheet protectors, for sure, but this way, nothing is coming out of these albums and spills can be wiped up easily.

Most of the papers came from Hobby Lobby and are acid-free, lignin-free and come in lots of coordinating colors.

I'd like to say that you can click on the pictures and see larger images, but blogger just doesn't always seem to cooperate.

New Year Crafts

Part of my new year craft ideas is scrapbooking a cookbook for each of my daughters. In it I have compiled recipes from family, friends & Betty Crocker and other resources. Each page I work on I want to cook. I have many fond memories of mom's cooking.

I follow a lot of scrapbooking pages, and one of the newest ones is Jacque's Joie de Vivre.  There are a lot of crafters out there so willing to share, it makes me wish I could draw and design some of my own graphics. Alas, my offerings are pretty awful right now.

It also looks like I am going to be redesigning the look of this page soon, too. Stay tuned!
