Diary of a New Knee - Part 17

I finished my in home therapy on July 16th and finally started up on the 26th with outpatient therapy. That 10 day delay cost me dearly. I'm lagging behind on being able to straighten out my right knee and being able to bend it.  So my homework also now include hubby's participation in a couple more exercises. One is pressing down on my knee and holding it for 5 seconds. Repeatedly. Another is helping me stretch my hamstring muscle. He'd already been helping me extend the bend a bit.

I'm not sure I've stressed enough how warm and supportive he's been. He has been there every inch of the way caring for me, encouraging me, soothing me and just being the best hubby ever. I am so lucky to have him!

Organizational Frenzy!

Even my DH is into this organizing thing lately. He's been working on the garage, will do some in the shed  before going back into the garage. Right now it is really too hot - in the 90's - for him to be working out there.

While he does that, I've gotten addicted to "I Want That!" on the DIY Network (do it yourself.)  So many cool things available nowadays. I love to forward the websites to him. I think he's hoping I finish healing fast and stop watching these shows and coming up with "honey-do" lists!

Bed Time - Post Surgical

I am a night owl. Really, there is no question  that I inherited this late night propensity from my dad. Lately, however, I look at the clock and pray for bed time to hurry up. Mainly because I can take something for pain before bed and secondly because I can take something for pain before bed. The problem is, if I take it too early, I'll doze off way to early and then at 2 am be awake for the rest of the night. Actually, there is no guarantee that won't happen anyway. I am, however, trying to keep to a schedule and each night hope and pray that I'll sleep an extra hour or so. Or that my spasming muscles won't wake me up -- or -- and this is a new one -- that my foot falling asleep doesn't wake me up.

Gone, at least for now, are those late nights crafting or scouring the genealogical sites for my family. I miss them so much!

The Tale of the Washer

When we bought our washer for our new home, we bought the extended warranty on it, figuring somewhere along the line we would need a repair in those first 5 years. Well, we were right, as it needed a new water pump. However, even after installation of the new water pump, we continued to experience some leaking. My last post about the washer repairs elicited a response from the Sears Social Network. Since I responded to their email right after the second instance of leaking, and got a prompt response from Searscares, I thought, well, this is great. Maybe they followed through, maybe not, since I was told I would hear back from them, and if I didn't to call back. I didn't hear back, did call and leave a message and finally got a call from their warranty repair company, who incidentally did the first repair.

Yesterday, the repair man came out again (new guy) and tried to get the darn thing to leak, but it wouldn't. Hopefully that means the second leak was a fluke. Please?
