My Memories Wednesday Challenge - Not Picture Perfect!

This week's challenge on the My Memories Suite blog is to take a picture that didn't come out as nicely as you expected. Well, I have to tell you, there was no doubt in my mind which picture that would be. The picture was part of a package we received when Younger Daughter had her high school graduation photos taken. My favorite picture is still the one where I look practically perfect and everyone else is sort of squinty-eyed!

My Memories Freebie Friday!

As I said in last week's post, my friends at are offering free quick pages. These, as I may have neglected to mention, are limited editions and are only available for a short time. And they are so nice.

Today's selection is another lovely two-page spread. And this time, I did something just a little different with it.

I usually work in letter size and I did resize this page to fit that format. I'm really happy with the result.

After resizing and adding the photos - word wrapped text and title, I added these cute little circles. You can add anything you want to these quick pages, and tweak it to your satisfaction.  Oh - and the title? I always bevel the title, because it gives it that really nice, shiny, 3-D image, especially after you add the shadow. I'm getting where I add shadow to everything.

Don't you just love these freebies?  Go here to download the freebie. Remember it is only available for a short time.  Stay tuned on Fridays for more exclusive kits!

(Don't have MyMemories Suite? Click on the $10 off button, use my code and save $10.  It is a terrific program and very easy to use.)

MyMemories - The Tutorials

One of the neat things about is the availability of tutorials. Presented by Lisa Jurrens - Lisa J - They are relatively short tutorials you can watch online or print the accompanying .pdf file and follow along. I watched two the other day - one on "Ordering and Alignment." I did have a slight grasp on ordering - but this tutorial actually explained the difference between sending an embellishment back and sending it backward. Subtle difference, but highly important.

The other tutorial, "Clustering & How it's Done!" took me step-by-step through building a page. It's funny, I've done similar things with real paper and embellishments, but I think this gave my page a great look.

The tutorials are available through the My Memories Blog - just click on the Tutorials tab at the top of the page.
